A Year in Review: 2014-15

As the end of the year is fast approaching, it is always a great time of the year to reflect.  Here is a movie I made from the newspaper clippings from the year.  What a year it has been!

Painting Analysis Time!

Painting Analysis Glog Link
Students,
You will go to this glog to view the paintings.  First read the question on your paper, they go in the same order as the paintings.  If there are any stars by the painting, click on them to see further information needed in answering the question.  For numbers four and five you will need to read a poem that is found in a star.
Happy analyzing!

Man's Best Friend

http://abcnews.go.com/US/slain-navy-seals-devoted-dog-remains-side-funeral/story?id=14378885

I saw this on the news the other night and completely lost it!  I don't even have a dog, but found the picture so moving.  I guess anyone who loses a best friend grieves...man or beast.  There are definitely a thousand words in these photos.

Tween Tribune

Greetings!  This is a great site for students to read articles that are of high interest and they can post their comments.  We will be doing an assignment with this site later in the year...so students might want to get acquainted with it now.

Things I have recently learned:
1. I despise the "plank" position in yoga.
2. Four-year-olds like to look at you AND say your name, even if you are already looking at them....and just to make sure you are listening they repeat your name once AGAIN.
3. Tea parties in 8th grade are a lot of fun!  Especially if most of them have never had hot tea before.
4. A nickname for "chrysanthemum"  is pansy (those of you questioning whether or not these are two different flowers...um...yes they are!  The correct answer is mums).
